Ooooof this entire album reminds me of summer 2015. I listened to this record constantly. Also I getting into Seventeen as they recently debuted. I was 17 and going to summer school at Van Tech for English 11. I had to get up early to take the bus to school. It was hot, obviously, and I struggled with what to wear because I was so self-conscious. And the heat made that so much worse. It was cool getting to school, so I was fine. But after class ended, the sun was out and it was the worst. There were forest fires so sometimes the sky would have a yellow hue from the smoke.
Anyways, it was difficult for me to be in school because I was in alternate school so being in a mainstream condensed summer course was hard. I remember staying up late to do assignments, listening to fire emblem music and drinking coffee to stay up. And I do that even now in university. The struggle.
But I did enjoy the class. Because my teacher was a film fanatic and it was a summer course, we resorted to using film to analyze and write our papers on. We watched: The Orphanage, 127 Hours, City of God, Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Motorcycle Diaries, and maybe a few more I can't remember. Yeah, it was a pretty cool class. The classroom was cool, too, with movie posters. I remember there being a Joy Divison poster. It wasn't my teacher's classroom, but his friend's, which is cool, too. I remember wanting to transfer to that school so I could have a teacher as cool as him lol.
Oh my god, I hate reading things I've written a long time ago. But this was sweet. This record really captures that time of my life so well.
